So I met this guy on dlist.

He said he wanted a relationship and I was like yeah thats cool me too. Well, I think when he said that he meant he wanted one like....now. We haven't even met yet and he's texting me "thinking about you" or other corny boyfriendy bullshit. I told him I don't want sex, that I'd like to get married and shit blah blah...well I'm wondering if he took that literally and thinks I mean anytime soon. We are going to get coffee monday, I'll see how much of a psycho he seems but I really am wondering if I'm getting involved with someone who is desperate for a relationship. Hes talking about going on vacation with me and how I will be campaigning with him when he runs for congress (i think hes joking) but its all a little much. I have no idea where I will even be living in the next 2 years, let alone wanting to settle down somewhere with a random dude I don't even know.

Really, does nobody have the courtesy these days to send a simple "hey, sorry but I'm just not feeling anything between us" text? I've always found the total ignore without notice to be very tacky (much more than breaking things off via text message).

Be honest, show him this thread or a diluted version of it.

which sucks, and you should express that. But you also don even know this person one bit. Something along the lines of the three-date-rule applies here

...he gave you an opening and you failed to take it.

I like to be honest. And direct. I had this guy here in Africa that I was beginning to think could go somewhere. I had been communicating with him for months, and finally decided to meet him. He's a lawyer, well traveled, and well educated so I thought we would make a good match.

We took one look at each other and knew it wouldn't work out.

Him: You're lighter than what I usually go for...
Me: You're less masculine than what I usually go for... Are you sure you're a top??

We both laughed. We still talk every now and then. He realized we attend the same spa, so he seems to have changed his date/time so that we are both there at the same time... We spa, chit chat, and go back to our respective lives.

from my experience some gay guys go in extremes

they have this 3 week long intense i love you we are going to live together forever
and then they cheat on each other or just break up

maybe he is one of these kind of guys
