What difficulty do you usually choose for games (if there's a choice)? i usually go for easy my first playthrough for the story and what not. if i like the game enough after that i bump the difficulty for the 2nd+ playthrough.

always normal/medium if I play through again than I'll do hard and if its a Metal Gear solid game I'll usually do hard the first time through.

if i choose easy i'll usually give it an hour or two to decide if i want to stick with that setting. some games were just unbelievably easy on the easy setting. so much so that it was just fucking boring as hell to play.

    Games today?

Easy is usually on the level that a monkey could play through - this is the setting people use when they talk about beating games in 4 hours.

Normal is today what Easy was 10 years ago. again - never worth using in too many games.

Hard - usually the setting I go for. Games today that are set to "hard" are like playing 10 year old games on Normal.

Extreme/Veteren/Pro/Super Duper Difficult - used for second play through. usually equal to Hard from 10 years ago.

The trouble is that games today are just too easy. Difficulty levels don't mean what they used to.

If it's easy/medium/hard I'll do medium or hard depending on the game

If it's noob/easy/medium/hard/OMFGPRO I'll do hard every time.

Depends on the game. Some games basically cheat on the hardest mode that it isn't even fun, while others have perks and different objectives depending on difficulty. For example, Hitman Blood Money I played on the hardest because it's challenging and bumps the realism, not cheap like Rainbow Six where enemies one-shot you with a pistol from 200 meters.

Mass Effect 2 and Dragon Age are probably the only games I play on easiest. I find the combat tedious and repetitive so I just want to get through it and go on with the story.

I usually go for default (normal) unless it's a game I'm just trying to breeze through for some reason (like I've already played it through a few times and the sequel is coming out so I want to relive the story real fast).

i'll only play the hard modes if there's something hinging on it like unlockables, achievements, etc. Otherwise, I could care less as long as I can enjoy the story.

some of us have a slight lerning disibility :squint:

whatever the easiest setting is, for shooters and other action games. between easy and medium for sports games. medium-ish for racing games.
