Got asked to shoot a wedding. Meeting with the guy on Tuesday to hash things out. What are some ballpark figures I can use to pin down what I need to charge him?

$1250. Did not include prints or book — only DVDs.

$300, because that's probably all they were willing to pay, and that's as hard as I wanted to work.

It's the only wedding where I've been the "head" photographer. I found out that weddings aren't for me. They were thrilled with the pictures at least. I feel like I delivered ~$700 of quality. . . that's about it.

Same. Couple was going to have a family member take photos with a disposable so I offered my services free of charge. Trust me, this wasn't even close to being a normal wedding. A couple hours of work for the experience was enough to make me never want to be a main wedding photographer so it was good. ;)

Good I just used your guide as a reference, but I have a pretty darn good idea what I am going to do when I get back to the states. I have been learning a ton. I just need some capital, which I am saving up, to get things officially rolling. Still need to decide on a site, logo, business card. But I want them all to be the same theme, color, and style.

I got pricing situated and still need to finalize gear set up, after that it will just be about book clients, I already have 3 or 4 verbal commitments which don't mean anything, but they are from family. And of course are already asking for the "family discount" even though I haven't even make any money to began with. :greddy:

$500... shot on film (35mm and MF) bride was a friend of my brother in law, so I just asked her to cover film, developing and printing... and a little cash to pad my pocket. If I remember correctly it was around $400 just for the film/processing. Didn't end up using all the film I bought though.
