    I upgraded a computer from:

    • A 1.6ghz processor to a 3.16ghz dual core
    • 512 mb DDR ram to 2gb 800mhz DDR2 ram
And everything is running the same. Namely WoW and CS:S. The framerate actually seems slower on WoW at times. Any basic things I should check? It seems unlikely that it would be in the low teen framerates with both setups.

Game performance is mainly dependant on the video card.

But it's going lower than before with the same card.

Also I get random tiny freezes and hiccups, not even in game. While doing anything.

Did you go from a single core processor to a dual core?
Is your BIOS setup correctly for the new CPU?
Perhaps your motherboard needs a BIOS update to support the new CPU.

Terrible motherboard choice... return it and get something different... assuming you make it through the BIOS flash. I've had about 50% of ECS motherboards fail during a BIOS flash.
