Ok I'm curious what could be wrong. When you try to turn the computer on it acts like its not powering up completely. The lights on the front of the tower come on, but thats it. Nothing at all comes up on the monitor. Not even a prompt screen. It's not the video card because its been taken out and tested in other PC's. I'm thinking it could either be the power supply unit, processor, or motherboard. Anyone else have an opinion about this? I want to get it up and running.

You should hear the normal beep when it starts, do the keyboard lights blink all on then off? Are there any irregular beeps? If so check motherboard manual to see what these beeps mean. Also, I see you tested the video card in other comps, but what about testing the monitor on other systems?

    - pull out both memory chips
    - replace one of the chips, power on -- if no power, remove, replace with other chip, power on.
    - if theres only one memory chip, remove and reseat
    - reseat power supply connection to motherboard
    - hopefully profit :dunno:

It doesn't make it far enough to beep. Monitors been tested on other systems. :wtc:

Oh look, another power-up issue. I think Emmet's right...somebody dumped a crapload of cheap power switches into the supply pool.

Find the place where the power switch plugs into the motherbaord, disconnect it, and try to turn the computer on by putting a jumper across the two power-switch-connector pins for ONE second and then removing it. Let us know if it works.

Nothing to worry about if it is.

You can get a momentarily-on switch for probably a buck or two at Radio Shack.
