what could be causing my laptop to keep killing hard drives?

    my laptop just killed my 3rd hard drive in ~3 months, what could be doing this?

    dell inspiron 8200 laptop
    hitachi 7k60 60GB 7200rpm hdd

    Hitachi drives are crap.

    Were all your 3 hard drives Hitachi? You may want to try another brand.

    all 3 drives were hitachi, kept RMAing them and getting refurbs

    hitachi always gets rave reviews though :dunno:

    i'm jut curious if there is something that could be causing the hard drives to go bad, such as: heat, power supply, etc?

    Ive killed one in the past by putting my laptop on the bed, so theres no ventallation. Make sure you put it on a hard service, with room underneath
