I have about $500 to spend and I am thinking of getting a Canon 300D, Powershot S2 IS, or a G6 from Ebay. Any other recommendations?

I am coming from a Canon Powershot A70 that broke. I just want a camera that takes non shitty pictures like my A70 did because the pictures taken by that camera look pretty dull compared to my friends DSLR. I am also a noob when it comes to cameras so I do not know what I really want. thanks

do you want a p&s or a dslr? p&s is within your range, dslr isn't.

What is a good point and shoot that will give me some pictures that do not seem dead?

save up a bit more and get a DSLR.
I just picked up this Canon D60 for $500 (paid $200 cash and work off the rest).

It replaces my aging Kodak DC-260.

You can probably pick up a Digi Rebel for $700 or less without the lens.
Here are a few pics of mine and my brothers cameras taken with my Kodak DC-260 (which is for sale if you want it),

that and actually knowing what the hell you are doing with the camera......

I would rather have a G6 than that old D60 btw

So should I go S70, S2 IS, or save for a dslr? I just want a camera that takes nice shots rather then dull looking pics like my old A70.

I doubt the dullness of your pics was caused by a faulty camera.

For $500 I'd recommend an S2 IS. Big memory card's extra.
