So what brand of flashlights do you guys recommended? Does the military or law enforcement use brands like Surefire, Pelican,Streamlight? I'm just throwing out brands that I'm considering buying from.

These are expensive flashlights, I would probably only spend under $100 and would be the only flashlight I'll ever buy again.

I got both of my sons this one ($35). I liked it for the size, power, shock/water resistance, and it uses AAA batteries that are easier to find/buy/steal while deployed. It has seperate switches for the white and red lights that are both color coded and also have a different tactile feel, so you can tell the difference in the dark.

It has a solid feel, is bright as fuck, and the shock resistance/waterproofing + lifetime warranty are as good as you'll find in a much more expensive light. And the size means you can either use the included sheath or just drop it in a pocket/pouch.

Def go with a Surefire. Nothing beats the build quality/light intensity.
