Im just looking for something basic. I dont need a gazillion bells and whistles. I would like it in .223

I know I can not afford a colt. So educate me on Rock River and other companies, who to stay away from and who is worth considering.

Can I even get into an Ar-15 for 750 dollars?

I have a RRA and its very nice

Entry Tactical for RRA is going to run about $850.

for $750 you could buy an upper and lower and put them together yourself.

Also checked arfdcom Equipment Exchange section for some deal.

but it's only 625 for everything except a stripped lower, included a national match parts kit with is usually an extra 100 bucks. you can find a stripped lower for around 100.

Buy a complete stag lower and a stag upper and you will be under 800 easily... more like 700-750.

BTW I built one for about 450... you just have to look hard on arf.com for good deals.

    RRA here.

I got a CAR chrome upper for 450 shipped and a complete lower with hogue grip for 285 shipped.
The upper was flat top so I got a cheapo lamepoint and looking for a decent flip BUIS.

I had the chance to shoot an eotech recently and Now I'm really thinking about getting one with the RRA mount. But thats like the cost of a cheap AK. So I'm at a crossroad right now. :hs:

I just saw a Bushmaster on consignment at a local shop for $650. It had a fixed stock, no muzzle break and I doubt that the barrel was chrome lined but it was pretty cheap. The deals are out there.

Herer is my build so far. Note my prices are a little higher especially for the lower as I am in California. Some I even bought at my local store to support him as he is my local.

    $235 - Doublestar Lower Reciever
$070 - Rock River Arms lower parts kit
    $001 - Mag Lock :)
$019 - Rock River Arms Hogue grip
    $052 - Doublestar CAR buttstock
$014 - LMT Buffer and Spring
    $024 - Two Armalite 10Rd Magazines
    $447 - RRA 16" Midlength A4 Upper
    $070 - Aimpoint Clone

Yes I know I bought a clone but this is for now. If I do not like the style I will end up buying a real Eotech and if I like it I will buy an aimpoint.

Yeah I bought the lower when we all thought the ban was going to be real soon. The lower was actually $185 + $25 for dros and another $25 for dealer transfer fee.

The lower parts kit was actually $65 + tax so I estimate $70. I could have gotten it sh ipped from Pete at ar15sales for 62 shipped but I chose to support my local AR15 part dealer. The upper though I got new chromelined for $434 shipped plus the damn paypal fee from ar15sales. He had it in stock too. No waiting like most others for RRA uppers :)

I say go to ar15.com and check out Equipment Exchange (EE). Good deals, but you have to be patient and be on like every couple hours or youll regret that you missed out on a good deal.

This is what my build consists of:

    65.00 - RRA Standard LPK
    18.00 - Houge Grip
    53.00 - RRA A2 Buttstock Kit
420.00 - 20” A2 Bushmaster Upper Complete "NEW" (EE shipped)
185.00 - Double Star Lower (Blame the cali liberals)

12.00 - Two Armalite 10rd Mags (EE shipped)
xxx - Mag Lock Kit (EXPENSIVE! Embarassed to post)
    Total 753

And hopefully my Upper comes in and not some Jerk runs off with my money.:noes:
just got an email saying he shipped it today. weeeeee!!! Should be here friday.

Sabre Defense or CMT/Stag. Those two are the only ones I'd consider at all these days, since RRA still doesn't make a rifle even close to milspec quality, and Bushmaster just raised their prices. The others don't even come into play, either due to gigantor prices or shitty quality.

Pfft, hiding your fees and tax! add about $60 to it, plus your $15 mag lock kit :fawk: when I made mine for literally less than a dollar. Get to sanding that nut I gave you!

If you don't want to build your own, then get a Bushy or an RRA... whichever you can get cheaper.

Olympic's are cheaply made "budget" AR15's.

Go to AR15.com and read all the newbie stickies and info.
