ok lately im tryin to stop procrastinating and get my competition rig going. Ive already decided on a Comp-tac holster and mag pouches for my G17. Now i need a good belt to fuse it all together. But i know nothing about gunbelts except that bianchi seems to be(to my limited knowledge) the standard for LEO use and the CR speedbelt is a great choice for IPSC. now id LIKE to go the CR speedbelt route but is that belt legal for IDPA as well? forgive me for being naive to the rules and guidelines to each discipline but i just want a versatile rig for both types of shooting. Any other belts i should look at for that kinda shooting? Does Safariland have any offerings for comp. shooting?
I need a 1.5" belt to work with the holster setup.

i'd go with a velcro underbelt, and a velcro gun belt, sticks right on

    bianchi, uncle mikes, etc

The stiffer the better. Search on thehighroad.org. Personally, I made my own. Two layers of 5-6oz tanned hide glued and stitched together. This was my first belt so I didn't really know better but now I wish I'd used maybe 7-8oz to firm it up some more.

Personally I'm very happy with my belt from http://www.thebeltman.net/ I believe they will also do a plastic insert if you want it even stiffer. Just give them a call.

I have the C.S.M. Instructors belt from thewilderness.com. I LOVE it. I can use it for IDPA or just to keep my pants up. It's great.
