looks like a 10.5" or 11" barrel with a Noveske brake. you'd have to SBR it.

SBR = Short Barrel Rifle = under 16" inch barrel = requires $200 tax stamp.

Its a myspace angle hard to determine what the length of that barrel pictured is. might be able to get away with putting it on a 14.5 barrel and permanently attaching it though bypassing the need for the SBR stamp.

since the barrel is less than 16" long you'd have to pay $200 for a tax stamp in order to register your rifle as an SBR (short barreled rifle) the noveske is a brake that reduces the noise directed at the shooter while using a short barrel, since short barreled rifles are louder.

the upper they're using is a 1-piece VLTOR MUR. the handguards on those are midlength and the barrel is using a carbine gas system, so judging from that i'd say it's definitely around 10"

so the break is actually kind of acting like a surpressor, but surpressing the noise going back to the shooter, not at the target?

ok i'm not looking to go that advanced with my first build. thought i'd be able to get away with something looking like having a surpressor without actually having to go through getting the $200 stamp.

That might be a 7" barrel or something shorter that 10.5"

So does the upper cost as much as the weaponlight? :mamoru:

Must be nice to have money :sad2:

you can put the noveske on a 16" barrel and not have to pay the tax stamp. although it's kind of defeating the purpose since they're specifically designed for SBRs. you could always get a fake suppressor for about 30 dollars.

a 7" barrel would end right after the gas block since the carbine gas block is 7" out. it's definitely a 10-11.

i think the VLTOR MUR uppers are around $500
