Only if you're going down this low...
i have done 585 that low...and almost never returned, it felt like i ripped both glutes off
Do you still regularly go that low?
that guy in the picture is a beast
fuck no, my knees wouldnt take it unless i wrapped..if I do go that low its with like 225 or so an its not often and its high reps
its dave draper
I think I'd stuggle to hit 300 for 1 that low
What's your regular squat like? (wider stance to parallel)
365 for 2 or 3 reps... The olympic lifting friend of mine (he was an olympic wrestling coach for 13 years) had me do them every so often.
However, on almost all my squats I go a few inches below parallel, not dropping that low, but pretty close. I actually find going below parallel easier on my knees overall. Sometimes when I lift heavier weight than I should I become hesitant and only drop to parallel or just above and it never feels good on the joints. The truth is though I am much stronger and faster out of the hole when I squat lower.
I haven't got the stabilizers or the strenght perhaps to squat my max of 455 olympic style, ass to the grass.
to this. I always squat a few inches below parallel, it doesn't feel right otherwise
Why are they wearing capri pants?
ive been almost strictly been doing oly squats recently. its easier on my knees, and i feel better afterward. still do gms and box squats for the ol hips tho.
ive been using 27(five) to 29(five) (sorry my five button isnt working) for four to five sets of five to six. damn five key! this is the thread from hell!
you don't have a keypad on the right side of your keyboard?
i generally do them with my feet closer together and my legs more in front of me then turned out to the side. I do 185 - 205 for sets of 8
its a laptop and im out of town.
I havn't done them in a long for a max in a long time but I've done 315x12 like that.
the dash, home, page down, left ctrl and delete keys dont worth either.
apparently, you really need those keys in day to day keyboard life.
but with a more narrow stance. what are the advantages of wider stance?
were bars really that weak back then or is that some sort of pre-bent bar?
it hits your quads more
you should have went to start->all programs->accessories->system tool->character map
but then we wouldn't be having such an interesting discussion.
right now im front squatting that low, 275x5
