Just curious what people are training for. Looking to get bigger? Faster? Stronger?

    I'll start...

By Dec 9th - 220lbs or less (no water manipulation) to lift in the 220s at my next meet. I am aiming for 500 squat/310-320 bench/500+ Deadlift

By March - 198lbs or less (no water manipulation) to lift in the 198s at PA States 07. Would like to lift the as much or more than I do in December.

    Currently - ~230lbs 468.5lb squat(as of 10/28), 303 bench (as of 10/28), 485 dead (as of last may.. missed 500 on 10/28).

Non powerlifting goals - be able to run... seriously. I have pain issues due to some sort of muscle strength imbalence/weird gate and running for over a mile is very hard due to the pain.

get down to 220, i hover around 225 right now

    1) squat 625
    2) pull 600
    3) bench over 300 raw, then i might consider putting on my shirt every now and then but it's not a primary concern
    4) crush any running tests for police fitness testing

Next meet will either be the APF state meet in Houston or AAPF Nationals in Lousiana if I grow a pair, both are in April of next year

Just curious but what gear do they allow in the APF/AAPF? Ever use a canvas suit? If so what is it like? In pictures they look fairly loose compared to what I am used to (single ply poly titan/inzer suits) and they have the velcro straps which confuses me (are they just there for on the fly adjustments? do they slip at all?).

Get down to 260-270lbs, kick ass at my two upcoming meets in March and April.

Hoping for an 1800+ total. APF/AAPF gear rules aren't that drastically different except they allow 2-ply gear and canvas suits/denim shirts.

By June-ish: Get my total to 1150+ and give a PL meet a shot for fun

Gear is pretty much unlimited in APF/AAPF. I've gotten into a canvas once but absolutely hated it, it was way too tight so I can't really give a good review since it was a horrible fit.

I'd like to find a loose one to try out someday, but I'm happy with my pro squatter for now. Velcro straps won't slip unless the velcro is crappy

canvas is good for wide squatters that have an upright descent and descend slow. canvas has incredible stopping power at depth. Most guys put a strong pair of briefs under (Metal Ace Pro, Metal Pro Briefs, Predators, etc) to get the rebound out of the hole.

Gene Rychlak has like the perfect denim squat when he hit a grand, I'll post the video when Iron Game pays their bill

The stopping power is pretty much the only thing I knew about. One day I want to try some of that crazy denim/canvas gear for shits and giggles.

I'm going to bulk until about February/March...hopefully I'll be at round 220ish or so (I'm at 208 right now) with solid strength gains and minimal fat gain. Then I'm going to cut up until the summer months (~12-16 week cut to get to around 10% BF from the 17 or so I'm at right now).

    B/S/D now: ~185x6, 155x6, 335x2
    B/S/D at end of bulk: 225x6, 250x6, 400x4

Edit: Front squat is at 95x6 (I've only done 4 sets so far in my life ) and I'm hoping to get that up to 185ish.

I'd just like to get back to the gym more consistanly like I was doing. I'm running my ass off and have my diet cleaned up trying to lean out, but buying a house and moving can really put a damper on things. :hs:
