What movies LOOK the best to you? I'm not necessarily talking about storyline, acting, characters, etc... But what movies are the most visually stimulating and impressive to you? Include some youtube clips.

    1: Citizen Kane - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IGUYOQUzrKU
    - incredibly ahead of its time.. read the wiki on it, some of the stuff they pulled off was groundbreaking and incredible. every single fucking frame in this movie would be an awesome photo. I watched it for the first time 2 days ago (can't believe it took me this long), and I was absolutely blown away.

    2: Heima - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RZYIfUdIyfs
    - the processing in this movie is oerfect. I love the tones, and colors, everything. Sigur Ros is my favorite band, and I think they captured their music perfectly in their visuals. Because of this movie, I'll go to Iceland within the next few years.

The Watchmen was pretty good in terms of composition, lighting, etc. It was one of the first things I noticed when I watched it.

Paul Thomas Anderson films are often strikingly beautiful.

    See:

    Punch Drunk Love
    There Will Be Blood
    Magnolia
    etc.

Not a movie, but CSI:Miami is very visually stimulating I think. I love watching it for its lighting, angles, shots, and PP.

I used CSI as a study aid when I was preparing for the bar exam as an example of what NOT to do, since everything they do on that show is a violation of the constitution or criminal procedure :mamoru:
