Have a night fire course coming up pretty soon and I need to pull the trigger on a set. A few instructors suggested the TruGlo TFO but after reading up on them the quality/craftsmanship seems to be lacking but most people like them but those that dont have some pretty bad horror stories. Im looking for something that I can still take to the range and punch paper so I dont really want to give that up with something like ghost rings, XS and others like that. Ameriglo? Mepro? Trij? What would you suggest?

I like that the vials are on the bottom of the sight cut. We then cut the rear notch to 140 or what we call a race cut. It lets in more light around the front sight so it's faster if you know what your doing for daylight shooting. Most night sights have very thick front sights and the race cut rear off sets this.

how long have you had them. Do they see heavy use or just trips to the range?

I ran a Heinie Slants with a tritium front. I liked that setup.

I've had them a few months. They've seen multiple range trips, a bowling pin match and several IDPA matches. I cant carry in MD, so the IDPA stuff is as rough as it gets.

However, so far, there is nothing that would make me think them inferior and I would not hesitate to carry them on a daily basis if I carried. I'd say that if some instructors are recommending them, they probably stand up pretty well for most use.

The G30 I bought came with em, just says "TruDot" on the rear site.

So far so good, bright as hell at night and easy to read during the day. No complaints, built like a tank.

I have Ameriglo Operator Pro. No complaints.

With the TFOs. I've read about numerous problems of the fiber tube falling out.

They seem fine to me. Nothing to make me think they'll fall apart any time soon.

I have the all green ones. I probably would have done the multi-color, but my local shop only had the green and it was just easier to buy them local and have them installed than to try to order the others.
