Why use it over CLS? More than 3 flashes?
The benefits are better range. And better reliability than the IR based CLS. Ive heard that CLS becomes less reliable in bright sunlight.
The benefit of CLS is that its built in, and allows you to control your flashes in TTL mode. Also if you prefer using manual over ttl, with cls you can control your flash from the camera as opposed to changing it on the back of the flash for every adjustment.
The one thing Im not sure about with other triggers is the sync speeds. I dont think they can sync as high as CLS, though I could be wrong.
Reliability. PW's never fail. They'll also trigger a remote camera.
Remote camera? More details on why I would want to do that.
you're not restricted to the CLS being in the line of site for the infared. Radio Signal > Infared
So you can get shots like this without disrupting the ceremony
100% crop shot of said remote camera
^ Gotcha! Good call.
Very true as well
and shots like this where you can't physically put a photographer. Note said photographer on far right shooting with his big boy lens.
