Yes, and I do. I was looking for some good websites that sell BULK ammunition. Order a few 1,000 rnd setups or something.

Looks like you save nothing on bulk-buying 9mm FMJ from ammoman. $15.99 for 100 white-box Winchester at local retail establishments (read: Wally World). $0.12/round before tax, $0.13/round after the local 8.25% sales tax. Perhaps Speer Lawman is regarded better than Winchester, but it's $0.18 per round for 115gr FMJ.

Perhaps the pricing is much better for other calibers without 9mm's vast economy of scale.

Hmm, interesting. Where are the best deals (online)? Ammoman? Or is there something else.

My numbers are off. Looks like German beer does not enhance critical-thinking skills :big grin:

I've bought white-box Winchester 9mm FMJ for $12.99/100 at Wal-Mart and 100-round Remington UMC value-packs for about the same price at Bass Pro Shops (in-store). Seems reliable enough; I've shot several hundred rounds through the Glock without incident.

The trouble with Wally-World is that they rarely have more than a few boxes of anything in stock. Bass Pro only has a handful of locations, but they have giant piles of ammunition on their shelves; who knows how much is in the back room. 100 rounds of UMC 9mm is $0.16/round on-line.

~$0.17/round for UMC at Cheaper Than Dirt

~$0.13/round for Wolf steel-cased at Cheaper Than Dirt

I haven't looked at any of that aluminum-cased stuff. I hear it's allright for short-term storage, reliable over the short term, and cheaper than brass.

This is also a problem I have encountered. I think I may have even mentioned it in a post within that past few days. Its rough over there at Wally World. It's almost like they sanction the shit.

I learned that from experience ... and it was reinforced by something I read somewhere, quite possibly here. Thought I was going to exhauset their inventory the other week (and attract some unwanted attention) buying 4x100 FMJ and 2x50 JHP.

I need to learn to drone on about shooting, my extensive gun collection, and buy a wide variety of calibers. I defintely need to avoid walking up to the counter and ask for exactly what I need.

This is why I wanted to know of some websites I could order bulk ammo from, especially if it is decently discounted. Because places like Wal-Mart only have so much in stock. And many of our local custom gun shops only carry 50 rnd boxes at over MFG-suggested retail prices. The only thing I have come close to with buying bulk was a Gander Mountain nearby. They had boxes of UMC 9mm, .40 and .45 in 250 rnd boxes. The 9mm going for about $45. That is still more expensive than Wal-Mart's $12 or so for 100 rnds.

You ever been to a Wal-Mart? Those fuckers are NEVER around.
Shit, 90% of the time, the Sporting Goods employee isn't around either.
They always have to scream over the loud speaker (with the phone in their mouth or down their throat, so no one can actually understand them, of course) for the employee to meet a customer in their own department, Sporting Goods. Then it takes the lazy fuck 15 minutes to come back to where he/she should have been in the first place.
Then all you find out is that what they have on the shelf is indeed all they have at this time.

I might also add that this is also the reason you are paying such cheap prices for your products as well. You do get what you pay for. Especially when it comes to customer service. That Sporting Goods employee might not actually even KNOW anything about guns. Actually... there's a very good chance they don't.

Wally-World is a tough act to follow if you don't mind their usual run-arounds and buying < 10 boxes at a time.

$0.13942 per round for Winchester white-box FMJ. As a small side bonus, about 6 of the 8 or so boxes I've been through had 101 rounds per box (the rounds are just dumped into the box).

For me going to gun shows is > *

Although we only have them every 1 to 3 months, theres a guy, kids, and friends that set up 8 tables or more full of ammo plus pallets full of the surplus stuff. and the pallets are sometimes 5 to 6 feet high.

There's no denying that Wal-Mart is the best place to buy ammo... but like you said... only if you're okay with only buying a few boxes here and there.

Too bad they wont sell ammo online! Then it would come straight from their warehouse(s) and there would be more in stock! But they dont, ftl. :wtc:
