I need new tires and just wanted to know what you guys recommend?

Pilot Powers? Sportec M1s? or the new Dunlops?

I currently have 208s and I dislike them.

pilot powers, i came from 208s and its night and day, i used to slide and skid all over the place on my 208s and with my pilots I can go alot faster through turns and it feels good,

on my r6 if that matters

Sportecs are awesome, hold the asphalt like no other. Main downside though is they wear quickly. Trying out the Pilot powers for the first time this upcoming weekend :hsd:

Pilot Powers will be your best bet. Much better than 208's IMO

The Pilot Power is the best overall tire. In wear and performace.

The SPortec M1 wears preaty quickly, but its a FANTASTIC wet tire.

The 208 is preaty shitty. But they do have a redone compound out now, that supposidly makes them more "power like". But i have yet to see anyone on them who's oppinion i would trust.

OH BTW I got the Qualifiers holy shit talk about improvement. Bike no long bounces/slides around corners.

I got caught up in rain the other day. I was takin off from a stop sign, 1st gear around 15-20 mph I decided to twist the throttle and bike actually came up, did not lose any traction at all. 1ST GEAR im sold

I've heard really good things about the new Qualifier. People are saying that they are as good or better than the Pilot Powers...

i used to run diablo corsa which i felt were better than the pilot powers... the new dunlop qualifiers are the best ive tried so far for a 50/50 track/street tire

Pilot Power is favorite amongst most riders.. it's fantastic tire.

What you say about 208 is the 208ZR, not the 208GP.. here most run 208GP and love them, they even replaced their new qualifiers to get 208GP... but they are shit on rain (no side tread)...

the new 209 is supposed to be good.

but IMO the new pilot power 2 (dual compound) will be even better

Sorry i should have been more specific about the 208's. Yes i was refering tot he ZR. I guess i figured that we where discussing street tires, and i conside the GP to be more of a track day tire (as becuase you mentioned, no side tread, and softer compound).

And i agree the Power 2's will be preaty amazing. And im looking forward to them.

pilot power, corsa diablo, etc... everyone seems to love them

I've never used GP tires, anyone had any problems with them expanding when hot and melting the plastic on the covers?
