what are some good shoes for going to the bar in?

What are some good options for something you would go to a nicer bar/club in? Something that would go well with a button down shirt.

it doesn't even matter, if the club is busy no one can even look at your shoes...and if you wear nice ones they'll just get stepped on

I'm talking nicer like dress shoes.

Well, the reason I ask is because I went to a bar last night that had a dress code and they wouldn't let me in because my shoes looked too much like boots apparently. They were dress shoes but I dunno what this guys deal was. It wasn't that nice of a bar...

I mean what type of shoe would look best with a untucked button down and a nice pair of jeans? Square toe?

What kind of dress shoes are you wearing?

My Mark Nason slip-on loafers are extremely comfortable...almost like slippers.
