Me and some friends are gonna hang out and drink but I've been on a PSMF cycle and don't want to consume a ton of carbs and sugar.

I was thinking gin and tonics, rum and diet coke? :dunno:

If you're on a PSMF you shouldn't be drinking.

it doesn't allow for cheating. it doesn't allow for alcohol. it's supposed to be hard, and it's supposed to require that you make some sacrifices while you are on it.

i haven't had a drink in months now, and i'm not even doing a psmf. this has meant that i have missed out on fun nights out with friends. It's meant that i've been out sipping a water, having a shitty time, while everyone else was getting destroyed and having a blast. Is it worth it? i don't fucking know, but i made a commitment and i'll stick with it.

psmf is not a good choice for a diet to do it half-way. If you want to be able to lead a normal life, just pick something else.

First of all it does allows cheat meals....have YOU read Lyle's book?

Second of all I wasn't planning on drinking unless I could do it in a way that wouldn't be so bad---hance making a thread to find out from the good people of F&N. :bigthumb:

I have had no problem being committed to this diet since last monday and have lost 9lbs since then and before that I have drank once in the last 4 weeks since I started committing myself to a healthier lifestyle. :p

i actually purchased it and read it, it's been a while but if i remember correctly Lyle even specifically mentions that alcohol has no place in this diet.

You don't get it, he wants the quick ticket, because yet again he is another person who does not understand what he is doing, but yet he INSISTS on making all aspects of training and dieting hard.

AND TQ, if you don't realize how alcohol has callories you do not need to be reading lyles books or worying abouyt PSMF, you need to learn some basic principles.

Hey think whateverrrr you want pal. :dunno:

I never really worried about calories in alcohol so I just never researched it. I'm not looking for the "quick" ticket. I'm overweight, I have a bad back, and I can't train as hard as I used to because the weight my back has to carry at the moment makes it harder.

I'm using PSMF to give myself a jump start and lose 20lbs. I've been eating healthy and losing weight slowly for 4 weeks prior to PSMF. When I heard about it I thought I'd just give it a shot for a couple weeks then maintain my previous diet of whole wheat bread, pasta, lean meats, greens, etc etc etc :dunno:

I guess in a sense I am looking for the easy way out---just for a couple weeks :)
