my friend has NEC ND-1300A 4X EIDE/ATAPI DVD+R/+RW/-R/-RW Drive
i am thinking of getting it
LG4040B, does + and - @4x, or if you got $$$, the new plextor 8x. I've just never been a fan of the NEC writers, just from experience @ my last job. The Pioneer A06 is also definately worth a look.
My Sony DRU-500AX is the best for me. It's a little bit old now, but they still sell it repacked with some newer software and gave it a different model number.
It depends on how much you want to spend... the 8x drives are beginning to come out...
I also have a sony... great drive. 16 minutes per dvd at full speed.
plextor 8x owns you all!
cendyne with a hacked firmware works good for me. also the same drive as a pioneer A05
TDK 8xindiDVD is pretty good
newegg had the nec dual format for 99 bucks the other day, good deal for a good burner, and not have to deal with any rebates..
^^^ were can i get that deal on the dvd burner for 99 bucks?
do these DVD burners actually rip/burn movie DVDs? so you can rent a DVD from your local video store and burn a copy? if so, is it easy and simple like burning a CD?
(i haven't been following DVD-RWs)
kobeyman, go here: http://www.dvdrhelp.com/
i recently bought a sony 510a from pricewatch.com for $150 including shipping. the plextor 8x does rule though.
cant go wrong with a lite-on anything imo.
