What are in Honda engines that make them so expensive?

I've been thinking about it but i can't fathom what parts they would put into the engine that would make them cost so much, and probably cost more than engines twice their size and power...

Good engineering... but not good enough to justify their price

they are just priced similarly to their competitors. You would think that the volume would bring the cost down, but nooooo

Honda motors aren't expensive at all, you just have to know where to get them.

Also demand, there is a huge demand for Honda motors these days. Everyone is doing a swap.

Well the C5 should be an exception since they are limited. A regular C1 is ~$2000 for a longblock if you know where to look.

    :ugh: $5k for a B18C5? From where :ugh2:

The B18C5 is so overrated anyway, I hate it. I'd take ANY other B series motor over it, any day.

For 5 grand you can build any Honda motor to handle high boost.

You can buy a Nissan VQ for $200 if you know where to look, and it has been on the Wards top 10 engines list for 10 years (going on 11).

The VE (+tranny) can be had for $375 if you know where to look, but it was only in production for 3 years and is a fairly rare motor.

  24. just because thats true, doesnt mean everyones gonna go around buying fucking muscle car shit you retard. It's about personal interest. Dang i noticed alot of people live in washington here :bigthumb:
