What are good sites for Audio/Video newbies ?

I'm wanting to learn about audio/video equipment and what's good, what's bad. I'm only casually involved in this, I'm likely to make a purchase for a TV in some months so I'd like reviews and stuff from average people like myself. Epinions.com is the one site I visit often for reviews/opinion on such things.

Are there anymore like it ? That maybe get abit more techinical but are still written by average people who speak in terms I can understand. Not those eggheads who talk about the specs til their blue in the face.

    Thanks
