i'm gonna leg press for a few weeks until my groin heals and i can squat.

i tried to mimic the squats setup today, so my knees were maybe 60 degrees?

    is this correct?

Sounds about right. I load it up light, maybe 100-150 lbs so there's resistance but it's not difficult, and knock out a couple warmup reps to get a foot placement that feels right in my knees, then load it up and do my sets. 60 deg between the two sounds about right.

I angle my toes out to allow my knees to bypass my chest

i angle my toes out on any pressing movement, especially squats. that's just what is comfortable/natural to me.

if you mean how deep do i go, I typically only go until my shin and femur are at a 90* angle....

    I don't like my gym's leg press, so I don't do them.
