And when they do it won't matter how good it is....just how much of it you have.

Make sure you don't use 5.56mm loading in a .223 chambered only gun.

    pressures are higher in 5.56

    You can shoot .223 in a 5.56, but you can't (shouldn't) shoot 5.56 in a .223

one would think that they would have them be the same for cheaper building, one or the other, but two different ones is dumb imo

All I have shot is the Remington stuff from Walmart. It was $4 for a box of 20.

    Ammoman has this stuff:

    camera.jpg (751 bytes) 223 RUSSIAN 62gr. FMJ
    NEW POLYMER COATING
    BRAND NEW
    20 ROUND BOXES
    100% NON-CORROSIVE
    WOLF MANUFACTURE

    FREE SHIPPING

    Part Number #223-9264

    $149 / 1000

I was thinking about getting 1000 rounds :o Opinions? I just plan on shooting paper. How good are these in terms of accuracy on the 100yd range? I would save about a nickel everytime I pull the trigger :o

I've got 1000 rounds of wolf on my bottom shelf right now, picked it up from ammoman. Should have bought more, but had a bunch of stuff I bought/needed to buy...next trip will be a much larger purchase.

For plinking I use Wolf or Surplus, or I roll my own, but as the others have said Black Hills is pretty good stuff. Haven't bought any in ages so dunno where to direct you towards to get it, last time I bought BH was from cheaperthandirt

if you're shooting a bolt or single shot, no need to go cheap.

I use the black hills blue box in my NEF Handi Rifle, and can consistently get less than .5 MOA.

I've actually had good results with sellier & bellot as well, believe it or not.

i use UMC, WWB, and wolf in my AR.

cant complain about any of them. UMC is the cleanest i think. as far as accuracy goes, i dont have a clue. im usually just bumpfiring or plinking. ive never actually set down and tried to group some rounds with the AR.

i save target shooting, for my target guns.

my vote goes to Black Hills, it's good quality and it's fairly cheap.

id have to agree with the Black Hills recommendation.
Ive shot PMC, Lake City XM193 and Black Hills blue box reman. 223 55gr softpoints...and the black hills in terms of accuracy at 100 yards is as close to match-grade ammo for a decent price as u can get. I havent tried the 68gr Match HP from black hills but i wanna pick up a few boxes and try it out.
a store by me has the 50-round boxes of the 68gr Black Hills for $21/box...not too bad..
if i didnt shoot black hills id stick with the lake city. AR's love that shit.

    for plinking: WWB or Wolf

    for long range matches:
100-300 yards = Black Hills 68gr match HP
    600 yards = handloaded 82gr
