[unfortunately it didn't launch, but I saw some other fun stuff to shoot]
the bird was at 72mm, so the quality got kinda soft...
you went to the shuttle launch and thats all you managed to take a picture of???
Reading the thread > you
I will give you a news update....
Two planes hit the world trade center
London subway was bombed
The shuttle did not launch
But why didn't you take pictures of something.... ummm... shuttly? like a metal or an astronaut or at least the launch pad or anything related to the shuttle...
shuttle launch with shuttle not launching, lol
it's 11 miles from where you can view it...hard to get a good picture =P
fixed the birdy pic..(there was too much noise and the colors were off)
and here are some others..
here are some more...
the blurry thing on the far left is a water tower..just to the right of that is the shuttle at its launch pad..the far right is the vehicle assembly building (VAB)..mind you, i was 11 miles out and it was moderately hazy..this was at full telephoto (obviously) and handheld.
this is the VAB...christ it's big ....below is a better picture i found on google..just to show you how big it is
fun facts i found:
The VAB covers 3.25 hectares (8 acres). It is 160 meters (525 ft) tall, 218 meters (716 ft) long and 158 meters (518 ft)
wide. It encloses 3,664,883 cubic meters (129,428,000 cubic feet) of space.
Height: VAB - 160meters (525 ft) <--> Statue of Liberty - 93 meters (305 ft)
Volume: VAB - 3,665,013 cu meters (129,428,000 cub ft) <--> Pentagon 2,181,117 cu meters (77,025,000 cu ft).
VAB equals 3.75 Empire State Buildings
the last one with the rain is sweet!
oh and i cant forget the traffic
thanks, that was hovering above the space center for about 30 minutes..then blew away
god i would love to go toa shuttle launch one day... sadly it will proly never happen.
Was that with your 5700, or did you end up buying a D70?

Jeez my bad... sorry i didnt find that out until like two days later... i just thought maybe it launched... since thats what you wrote in the thread title
