second time shooting (well, I shot when I was like in 6th grade, but I don't count that)

20 yards away, I shoot the bullseye out of the target with a Ruger P89 and 50 rounds :coold:

    I've shot with:
Beretta 92FS (only a few rounds)
    Sig P230
    Ruger P89

and the Ruger was the most accurate handgun.

I'm waiting for the range's Walther P22 to get back from servicing so I can shoot a few rounds.

    just thought I'd share

ruger is the official firearm of the pink pistols, or so i hear from platinum thunder. he said he was going to join, but he wants them to switch over to the lady smith as the official gun before he does.

I'm calling it as it is. People can say the Ruger is a POS for all I care, I dont' have a particular favorite. All I know is that I've hit more center shots with it than any of the 3 guns I've used.

The ruger was the second coolest looking gun (behind the Sig). For some reason, I don't want to use the Glocks as I don't think I'll ever own one.

Like I said, I'm waiting for the Walther to test out.

Hey, I graduated from IU. Do they still have a range under the Student Union?

I like the way the Beretta feels and shoots. I'm pretty sure not everyone agrees with it. The P22 is a fun pistol to shoot that doesnt eat a hole through you wallet.

it had the most recoil of the 3 guns, which translates into less accuracy for me as a beginner

any other guns I should try out? I think I'm gonna go to range today

you should try a Glock.. they have almost no recoil in a 9mm.. or a Springfield XD

The type of ammo used could also have something to do with recoil. You probably noticed the Ruger is also a bit heavier. That helps reduce the felt recoil a bit. I'd try them all if I could. You could try the bigger SIGs. (P226, P220) If they have 1911s try those too. Try the CZ also if they have them.

I've never had a problem with recoil with any 9mm. It is such a light round. Only time i started to have any hints of heavy recoil was with +p+ rounds
