Went to the Elite Seminar * PICS ADDED *

So I went to the Elite Seminar this weekend. It was really cool. They were setting up the compound for the seminar on Friday so I couldnt work out there. Called Westside and Louie told me that they were training at 4. So I drove down and trained with them, there were two flights. I trained with Amy Weisberger DE squats and talked to Louie for awhile. He is definitely super knowledgeable and very nice, jokes around, we talked about working out, boxing, Russian Bloc training, pretty much everything. Before I left he told me to come back for a week next time so I could see how they work out for a whole week. One of the kids there is 20 but squatted 1000 @ 19 yrs old.

Saturday I went to the Elite Seminar. Dave, Jim, James Smith, Defranco, Alwyn Cosgrove, Justin Harris and Matt K all spoke. It was awesome, so much good information, from program implementation to motivation and everything else, business advice, life advice just great all around. Alwyn was hilarious.

Sunday we had a basic training day we each separated into groups and were able to ask for input regarding S/B/D specialty exercises. etc. I went through a workout with Wendler who said I had the best squat form of anyone at the seminar and anyone he'd seen in a while. I was really stoked to hear that. My deadlift apparently is only "not bad". lol He gave me some valuable points. Afterward I spoke to James Smith and Alywn for awhile since I pretty much had talked to Matt K and Justin all day on Saturday and they were benching heavy in shirts. We all bullshitted awhile and went to lunch. All around really cool guys. They gave away a ton of stuff. Shirts, Books, DVDs, prowlers. Everything was run super professional and very enthusiastically. It was awesome!

Sorry bout the delay just got home from plane ride/gym.
Lots of pointers...kinda brain dead right now but train your balls off. DC training is good for growth. Nutrition was mostly about carb cycling and why its advantageous for minimizing fat gain or muscle loss depending on caloric level.

Lets see some tips from my notes: Shoulder dislocations are good for heathly shoulders but not the way they were done here on OT necessarily just going as far back as possible. Falling forward on squat is elbow position. If you are doing sets of 2 or 3 hold your air. Matt K. does only heavy high rep DB rows for his grip or double overhand stuff and never uses straps FOR ANYTHING. IF you want size DONT BOX SQUAT< FREE SQUATS or Lunges for Muscle MASS. Pull aparts are really good for upper back. If you emphasize performance 1st body comp will follow. START COMPETING! Flies are good for bench. All you need for a great deadlift is rows, oly. squats and gms. Undulating Periodization > Linear. Tabata protocol is good for fat loss. Write down goals and work backwards. And you need Carbs Sodium and Water to store glyogen.

Wendler. They said squatting on a box is great for recovery ie you dont get sore, even Louie brought this up when I spoke to him @ westside. "culver city westside squatted 3X per week, because it was on a box."

Another highlight was when he tried to channel the power of satan for his standing militarys (heavy set) and when I asked him to say grace at lunch...lol.
