and ended up buying a P99c AS...

    And a 10/22.

The P99 just felt so much better in my hand than the M&P, it was worth the extra cost to me.

Was able to get the gun store to knock about $70 off the combined price of the two firearms, which brought the 10/22 down to $200, and the P99 to $600 basically. There goes that tax rebate.

Probably could have found the 10/22 for maybe $10 cheaper, the P99 was cheaper than bud's prices or anything on gunbroker, so seems like I got a good deal.

Now to wait 10 days... joy

  2. In the Peoples' Republic of California, do you have to wait 10 days for the 10/22 too?

They were mostly DAO as I recall.

Welcome to P99 crew. We're the best.

    what's CDNN?

I've seen the DAO p99c's cheaper online, but I wanted the AS. I think the super long DAO pull would drive me crazy... I'm used to my buck mark with a short, 2 lbs trigger.

I'm glad I went with the P99 over the M&P, especially after hearing about all of the issues with the M&P feeding hollow points. The P99 will certainly be for self defense, and those issues didn't fill me with confidence.

it's a gorgeous pistol, and most importantly feels great in my hands. The M&P isn't bad, it just didn't feel nearly as nice. Seems like overall it's a better pistol anyway, and basically only cost me about $100 more.

Thats funny that you're mentioning the M&P vs the P99. I was trying to decide between the two, with the only problem being, I cannot get either one locally for some odd reason. Everywhere is completely sold out of both.

Should be a good gun. I've heard good things about them.

Too bad you can't carry it.

walmart price for the same model I got was $190... and the nearest walmart is a good half hour+ away, and the nearest that carries firearms that I know of is at least an hour.

even the same rifle on gunbroker is $219... no where nearby carries them for cheaper
