So We were talking and somehow got into guns. Well he had an awesome idea that I thought was genious. When he was building his house he had them cut a hole about the size of brick in one of the walls and made a little box. So he bought a pistol to put in there. Then they put a thin piece of wood that could easily be broken with your first. Next he wall papered over it. He has 2 of these one in his kitchen and one in his bedroom. So supposedly if theres ever an intruder he can punch through his wall and get his gun. I thought it was pretty tight.

My dad was playing around and hitting walls and the guy got a little worried.

I'm not sure that in a high stress situation that you would be able to remember the exact spot that you have these "hidden" guns in. I would hope he has an easy way to open them occaisonally too so that they can be cleaned and function checked also.

...in two places, the hole where the gun is and the point of impact. :o

thats retarded.. so if he ever wants to get to the gun, to maybe clean it, or change the mag (the springs will wear out overtime fully compressed), hes going to have to change the wallpaper.

I'm sorry, your dad is a retard :hsughno:

Revolvers are gonna go bang everytime; honestly I had thought about a similar idea except instead of breaking the wall keeping it hidden under a carpet in the rooms and keeping it under tiles in the bathrooms (of course in recessed areas).

That's like something you'd see in a movie. It's kind of stupid...

I wonder how thick the piece of wood is he used... Someone leans on the wall and their hand goes through it :o

Yea, Hard To Kill. Seagal hides a camera and gun inside the wall of his old home. He comes back after he wakes up from his coma to retrieve them.

what i wanna know is when he had the time to stash it. they show him at the docks, then picking stuff up on the way home, then the break-in. when did he have time to stash the stuff, put up the facia board and re-wallpaper the hole?

Yep, that's idiotic. Putting a gun into the wall and sealing it means he just created a great place for condensation to build as the seasons change and temperatures between inside and outside are at extremes. He just insured that he now has 2 pieces of rusting metal in his walls.
He should have just made open cubbyholes and hung pictures over them.

Id do the cubbyhole behind the picture setup. I like the idea of a gun being more concealed and less conspicuous then in a drawer or under the bed. Also less of a chance of it being stolen/ used to shoot you if someone comes into your house.

A.) If he's at all logical it would be an interior wall...temperature/condensation wouldn't be an issue.

B.) It would work and I believe it. My friends dad was an ex cf guy they had a farm and in there trailer, between the addition and the trailer is a wall and supposedly he put to prohibited and unregistered firearm inside for "Just in case".

Of course he also had the "Blue briefcase" which contained a .45 and something else. he'd always say "Time to go get the blue briefcase I guess..." He quit his job one day telling me yea..."It got to the point where I was going to bring the blue breifcase to work, so I knew it was time to find a new job."

    funny stuff

Why would u want a gun concealed in your home? I understand keeping it away from children. If some1 breaks in your home, you think they are going to give u time to go look for your gun, at your secret hiding place? Personally, I think a sock drawer or under the bed is a much better place. Lets use common sense, leaving a gun at your coffe table at all times is not a bright idea.

No, but hiding it under ur bed or in a sock drawer isnt the most original place to hide a gun. So lets say your not home, and somone breaks into your house. They will probably look in those places if their smart. They most likely wont know that its behind a picture in your wall next to your bed, which would give me plenty of time (again if i was home) to get it and use it to defend my home.

wtf, y would u do that. what if u wanted to shot the gun another time.

on the other hand it would be tight to move into a house and one day punch a hole in the wall to find a pistol

    I wouldn't seal it in a wall.

You couldn't get it out to practice or maintain it.

Hiding it behind or inside something movable would be a far better idea. A picture or a flower vase.
