Bought my first gun today after alot of online research, lots of fondling in gun stores, and shooting the candidates. I came to the conclusion 9mm is best for me right now being a new handgun owner seeing as how im going to be going through a shit ton of ammo. The XD just felt right in my hand. I almost bought the Glock 9mm (Model 17 maybe?) that was in OD Green, but for the life of me i couldnt get the damn thing to sit in my bear paws right when i was shooting it. Couldn’t find a CPO Sig in my price range, H&K.... maybe someday when i get into this sport alittle more to justify the price tags.

I actually had every intention of buying a used H&K USP9 Gander had in last week, loved the way it felt and it shot smooth. Alas the mofo was gone today so i decided on the XD.

Also picked up two boxes of WWB, some CLP, and a noobies cleaning kit.

Range report tomorrow and maybe some more pics.

Cliffs : Bought XD, bring on rust hate

    The safety?

BTW nice purchase. I tried the XD, but for me the glock fit better. I'm hoping to try out an XD 45 soon though.

Thanks Im excited to start breaking this bitch in. And that button is the Grip Safety, and honestly you dont notice it when you have a good grip on the gun - at least i dont. Just another way to stop an accidental discharge i suppose

Oh forgot to mention.... Now i know Springfield has a limited lifetime warranty on the XDs but you have to send it in for work. I went ahead and bought for an extra 20.99 the "manufacturers plus a year" warranty from Gander. So basically lifetime from Gander and their certified gun smith instead of sending it in.

Just an extra tidbit for anyone else on the verge of buying

it goes in the slide during shipping and such until the customer buys it. i'm not really sure why, and i'm kind of drunk, so who knows.

Edit- And it has Springfield Armory Inc. imprinted on the other side, so i dont know if this is SAs own worthless piece of plastic or its standard issue.

It locks the slide back. It is usually in the slide when it is shipped.

Hah, knew you would be in here sooner or later.

Figured as a gun owner you would just enjoy someone new to guns just trying to get into the sport  . Just bought the gun that fit well in my hand, i guess i made the assumption that was important. But hopefully all your comments are in jest, and in that case :wavey: .

To everyone else thanks im excited to put a couple hundred rounds through her today, and hell its warm out its 43 degrees.
