    And got this instead:

Holy shit is this thing different from PS... I can see it's value for batch processing, and processing .jpgs straight up, but it'll take my PS using ass a bit to get used to it's workflow. I'm going to give it a chance, but right now it feels awkward. Now i need to work on some presets, either 3rd party, or self-made (if i can figure out how to do that.) This could be fun :noes:

I must admit, i'm not sure what i'm doing with this. I miss the blindingly obvious "Save As" to finalize what i've been working on. the test pic i used for a quick fam-fire that you can see was a .jpg to start with, and i don't know if i've saved it after i finished what i was doing or not. :hs: i think it's time for me to google me up some Tuts to really learn this program.

There is no "save as" because everything you do in LR is non destructive. LR automatically saves everything for you. You can also go back and change anything at anytime up to the point when you export.

Quick question... I exported a raw from LR, straight to PS for some additional editing. After i was done, i tried to save the finished product, as a .jpg, but PS would only let me save it as a tiff, or a psd... image was flattened, and there was nothing i could see that would have prevented me from doing this, and there was no way to export the file back to LR for the finishing touches. thoughts?

You need to change it to an 8 bit file before you save it out of ps.

    image>mode>8bits channel

LR exports to ps as 16 bit I think... jpegs can only be 8 bit

I agree LR is totally weird to me, but I decided the other day that I'm gonna use it as exclusively as possible with the client files I'm currently working on. Maybe I'll end up learning it this time.

It took me several weeks of using it before I got the hang of LR. I don't even use CS4 except for batch resizing of images.

    LR > CS4 for photographers

Did i see that correctly in the LR sticky, that to resize images in LR, you basically have to set a maximum size constraint during exporting? that just seems... annoying.
