Went out to pick up some 9mm for my workhorse to go to the range.

Stopped in at a shop as they seem to have the most competitive pricing locally and had to ask to see the Glock 17 and 22.

I've been drooling over picking one up since I moved down here. All my other weapons are safely stored back home, and I've been wanting something for home defense...quite possibly the weakest excuse to just go out and purchase a new firearm [IMG].

Anyways, I've been hearing from a couple shops prices are going up due to the dollar and border issues with the U.S. etc...

So I dropped the hammer and picked up a

I was a bit torn between the 17 and 22 but finally went with the .40 as this is my home defense with range trips second. I went with Ballistics over price, and if I get into IPSC, which I'm hoping to try and get to a couple this season, I wanted something that would grow with me in competition.

I may still grab a 17 for the range if I can get in before the price increases...But I've also learned that there are 9mm and .22 conversions for the 22?

you are aware that with proper ammo .40 and 9mm ballistics are nearly identical, right?

wow...WMD has some hate on for the .40

I fired the Glock 29 with some hot loads, it was snappy but I never minded firing it...

I also have a .45 1911 and I would have thought the .40 couldn't be as snappy as that.

.40 doesn't kick that bad. But then again, I do enjoy briskly recoiling guns.

Exactly, So I was apparently wrong to assume that a .40 would fall in between...

Edit and in added gayness I got a letter from the Canadian Firearms Center advising my Authorization to transport letter wasn't sent/had an error (The gun store filled and filed for me). I'm fucking pissed, now I gotta call the CFC tommorrow to find out what the fuck and tell them to get their shit together. Then call the the gun shop and be like who the fuck fucked this up?

Fucking Canada. God forbid you take a firearm home without notifying them of the route you plan to take!

In your house it's a defensive weapon...long gone are the days of just heading into the bush to pop off a few boxes for restricted weapons though
