Double star stripped lower and a 1944 M44. Not numbers matching, but I like it anyhow.

Not sure which route I'm going to take with the AR, I'm thinking about making a 9mm out of it. The Mosin is just for fun, I may stick a scope on it later to see how accurate it is. For less then $100 I could resist it.

Meh, wife buys it, I prefer Borden personally when I'm paying for it. :)

I am disappointed that firearms have been brought into this discussion about milk purchases.

Have fun with the Mosin. I'd get one for my own ... weekly shoulder realignment sessions ... but the local ranges have these asinine rules prohibiting FMJ ammunition.

You might be a touch too new to understand this yet. Regardless of which subforum you're in on OT, if you make a large/out of the ordinary purchase or something you're excited about, it always starts with "I went out for milk" and ends with "and came back with (insert something sweet including pictures) The "Went out for milk" threads are usually entertaining.

Was this bought at the Saxet gun show? If so, who did you buy it from? Two of my friends bought Mosins yesterday there.

Oh man, can't remember his name. He was an older guy, pretty nice. He was like the second table parallel to the back wall on the right as soon as you walk in. He had a couple of hex receiver mosins too, but I didn't want to spend $150 for one.

JHP/HP or softpoint at the nearest 100 yard outdoor ranges - same story at the indoor ranges.

I was joking. 'Seen a few dozen of these threads in WMD alone.

I didn't notice any SKS's (of course I wasn't looking for them, since I had my head set on a Mosin). How much was he selling them for?

He had aquired a crate of un-issued Yugoslavian 59/66s. I got one for $200 (which is a little steep), but I like the gun. This was in November of last year I believe. Some of the used ones go for around $125$150 I think
