Bought one and I've used it a few times in the last year. It's too damn light to be a paperweight, too :(

It's good for throwing at midgets, though.

  5. i'm thinking about getting a f/1.4 soon for in studio use :hs: :dunno:

Heh, it's a 1.8, the difference in a 2.8 to a 3.5 is major in night shooting w/o a flash, so you aren't going to get much better, plus it's only $100.00.

    its not out yet :hs:

I just want to dump fo 1.8 anyways, never use it.

origianlly bought the 1.8 for my dad, he didn't want it, so I took it, used it, broke it, went to buy the 1.4, but the salesman talked me into the 28-135, hated it, bought the 1.8, sold the 28-135, bought the Tammy 28-75, now have both, and don't really use either that much, with the 1.8 the least of all lenses

i use the tamron 28-75 most of the time, which covers the 50mm range.. but the 50mm is still awesome to use for taking pictures of people when im not lazy to move around.

  16. Oh :o

    :werd: No f/1.2 no care

but if you want to hook me up with a free 1.8 :x: :naughty: :hsd:

the 1.4 is pretty nice, little better bokeh, little better at f/2, reasonable price.

I only throw it on when it gets dark or if i need something inconspicuous.

generally speaking, a lens with a larger aperture will have quicker AF in low light than a smaller aperture lens.

btw anyone want to buy a

    17-40 4L
    24-70 2.8L
    70-200 2.8L nonIS

I played with a 24-105 4L IS today and kind of want this to be my new setup
    16-35 2.8L
    24-105 4L IS
    70-200 2.8L IS

I really like my current setup but the IS walkaround would be really nice :noes:

    50 f1.4 is sharp as fuck, sharper than most L lenses I've used (at f/3+); 17-40, 16-38, 70-200 f4, 70-200 f2.8 IS, 24-70.

    Aren't 50 f.1.8s like $60 shipped online? :dunno:
