    [Unfortunately it won't be mine]

Just took my CHL class yesterday. Overall impressions were good. The instructors were very funny, informative and explained everything very clearly, though I do believe they threw a little too much political commentary than necessary. I managed a 246/250 on the shooting, which I was relatively happy with considering this was the second time I've shot a gun since 2004. Range time went down considerably after I went off to college. Unfortunately my dad did beat me with a 247 so I had to hear it from him for a bit. Had a lot of fun and a good learning experience. They were saying the DPS was pretty backed up right now though so they were estimating at least 3 months wait.

Last thing...my dad after a day being around it decided it was finally time to commit and picked up his brand new Sig Sauer P229R. They had two with consecutive serial numbers, which would have been cool, but unfortunately I'm still saving he wasn't ready to drop the bomb on mine too. He got it with nite-sights for $810.99+tax...good deal? Also they only had two mags left for it so he bought them for $58.99 each...I didn't realize Sig mags were so expensive

Oh, and I forgot to mention I did my qualifying shooting with one of the range's P239's...I let my dad use the P229R because I knew he was seriously considering walking out with one. During my quals I actually experienced 2 FTF's using Blazer ammo...not sure if it was the gun or ammo on that one, but I was the only once to experience problems

P.S. - How can I get a pic up here...I can't post images, attach files, or post a link to it?

That was actually a pretty good price he got on the gun, but any "deal" he got, was negated by the ass raping on the magazines. You can get Mec-Gar mags for like $25/per. They're usually higher capacity than factory, and just as good of quality.
