So I just got my XTi the other week, and went out for the first time to actually take some pics. I'm new to this, so any suggestions are welcome. Here's a few I took along the Mississippi. They were taken right at sunrise, I planned on taking more, but my battery died. :o These were all taken with the Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II. Pics are somewhat big. :hs: I also know the tracks pic would look better without the wires and poles. :o

    I like this one
    http://uploader.ws/upload/200612/tracks1.jpg

Mostly because the curve at the upper section disrupts the continuity and adds character, you are not really expecting that. I like all shots but the first and the last one.

Why don't you try shooting the tracks again from a lower position (aka ricer angle)? You'd get less cars, more side posts and still have the bridge

That's me and my untrained eye anyways :o

me thinks you are using a shitty program or the wrong method to do your resizing. take a look at the power lines in the railroad track pictures; are they pixelated to anyone else?

So that is Cape Girardeau Missouri correct? I lived there for 20 years and thankfully finally moved away.

I don't think the wires and poles in the tracks picture look that bad.
