Originally wanted an XD45 to go with my XD9 but fell in love with the P99, it
fits so perfectly. Plus the ammo prices on 45 are just unbearable. This thing
    fits my hand so perfectly.

Can't wait to shoot it tomorrow.:wiggle:

Wonder if that stuffy 1911 supremacist at Bass Pro will dismissively refer to it as a "tupperware blaster?"

Probably. I don't care, I probably shoot better than he does with his 1911
    anyway.

My other birthday present that an OTer bought me by sending me some
lost money on a transaction we had long ago....

I can only speak for the AS model but its an incredibly short reset, probably tied with my s&w 1076. Was it a QA or DAO model? I don't know what their resets are like.

I had the biggest man-crush on that gun a long time ago... got the XD instead, that being said, my collection needs a 9mm... how much did you get it for?

Put 200rds through it this morning. A bit more "kick" than I thought there
would be. More than my XD9 and more than my friends' Sig220 or G21.

At first I couldn't hit anything but eventually figured it out.

I also seem to occasionally be hitting the mag release when I fire which
obviously causes a problem.....I'll have to work on that.

I had a target with 4 subtargets in it (one of those plasticky things that
highlights your shots)....would shoot one with the P99, one with the XD9
and yeah....the XD9 is easier to shoot. More accurate with the XD but
go figure, I've put several thousand rounds through it.

So far, I like it, as long as I can figure out the deal with the mag release, or
maybe the mag is just occasionally popping out.....more likely the former.

Beauty is in the eye of the Steyr-holder..

Seriously though, Walther did it RIGHT with that gun. Only issues I've heard is holster availability and sight issues.

I don't know if I could get used to that mag release, but if I find a good deal on one with a STD rail, I'll fucking find out :big grin:

Gimik: R&D says late this year, early next? No idea. I'll be buying one, immediately, too. :o

Original plan was to make an L45A1, 5" barrel, accepting 1911 mags.. but I don't think the final incarnation will be the same, though..

I'm not sure how I'd feel about that. I guess I'll have to wait and see.
