Daily diet: fruit/milk/honey shake in the morning and a glass of milk/protein powder. Nuts and fruits as snacks. Alternate between tuna/chicken/veggies/rice for lunch and diner.

I went with something similar to christophers' routine but figured I'd go for 3x8 since it'll (I think?) help give me some volume.

    3x8 squats with same weight
    3x8 deadlifts with same weight
    3x5 benchpress with same weight
3x8 DB curl with same weight (I have no idea how to do an incline DB press)

I tried watching out for my form as much as possible and took my time while lifting while taking small pauses to let the muscles feel the weight.

Is it normal that after doing the squats the lower part of my butt and the back the my thighs were hurting? Keep in mind this is my first time. And if that's where I'm feeling the weight, am I doing the squats correctly?

Should I lower the benchpress weight so I can go 3x8? Also, when I tried doing the initial lift I felt a burning sensation at the edge of my pecs (close to my underarms). Should I be worried or is it just because I'm out of shape?

Is there any specific equipment for a deadlift or do I just use a regular bar? Also, should I be lifting with my back first or with my legs? Or both at the same time? Most of the "pain" I felt after my reps was in the lower back area, good or bad?

And last but not least, nutrition. What do you guys eat pre and post-workout? I decided to take some nuts and raisins 15 minutes before workout (not too many, maybe 2 handfuls) but I didn't feel quite well during the workout. Post-workout, I just took some water with a scoop and a half of whey protein (~35g of protein).

Comments, suggestions? I'm really really weak and I'm open to anything that'll help get me to a respectable size/strengh. Sorry for the long post :o

christophers routine doesn't require a lot of volume because it incorporates using heavy weights and constantly adding

dont tweak the routine, if you want to grow, just eat a lot and lift hard, follow his routine the way it's made, and you'll see results soon enough

pain in the lower back with deadlifts is normal (you just need the bar+weights). your legs will feel the squats in different places since you're just beginning. dont really worry too much about it

    So 5x5 all the way?

And how do I do an incline DB press? I tried looking in that website everyone keeps linking to, but I don't even know what part of the body it's supposed to exercise. :wtc:

I'd much rather see him drop a 225lb bar on his face.
