Just got back last week after doing 6 months with the Army at Camp Victory in Iraq.
Victory...ah the memories.
6 months? Nice.
I was wondering recently where the hell you went off to...
Awesome. Welcome back to the land of sidewalks, paved roads, 24/7 hot/cold running water, and helicopter flight paths that aren't 200' above your bedroom!
So you are now a 1Lt?
6 months? that's it? fuck
15 months at liberty is where it's at
I've been one for a while. Putting on my second bar at the end of the year.
I'll tell you what, that was frustrating -- being a LT over there. Its like Rodney Dangerfield, no respect. Army promotes to CPT in 3 years, all others 4. The attitude and tone when walking with a captain, any captain, was automatically higher and better tone than if I was walking by myself. Particularly frustrating when it was a captain who I had been in longer than.
15 months? F-that. I was there with 18th Airborne Corps, they were on a 15 monther. I got there about their 12 month point and they were getting burned out big time. By 15 months they were foaming at the mouth ready to get out of there. 15 too long, 12 would still suck but doable. I was just getting into my groove at 4-5 months.
You're catching up to MAJOR lol
I'm going to change my name to CAPTAIN when I pin on. Cool, right? Turbo?
