My less than 1 month old Mac Pro needed to use the time machine backup today.

I restarted this morning to find a gray screen with a spinning wheel and nothing beyond.

I verified the disk, repaired and attempted to archive and install and the install failed. Twice. So I erased the disk and am currently restoring with time machine.

I wish I knew. Everything was fine. I went to shut down so I could see if I could fit a new CD drive in it and it never came back up.

Yeah I have apple care. I was getting fed up with fucking around so I used the online setup they have, I said for them to call me, clicked continue and within 4 seconds, I had a tech support rep on the phone with me walking me through my options.

I spend this much money on a computer, I'm going to use up as much of their time as I can.

Got everything back up and going now, but im definitely going to be backing my shit up more. I lost about 10 days of data for my business expense reports to I had to re-input all the data. Not a huge deal, but I wasted about 5 hours this afternoon fucking around with this.

The default should be minor backups every 15 minutes and a daily backup at the designated time of your choosing. If the machine isn't on, it won't do the backup though.

I've had time machine save my ass a couple times now and I love it.
