I'm finding it easier to find flaws in my lifts, now that I can go back and review them. Just means I can/need to improve.

Today was my last heavy squat, deadlift, strict curl workout before a comp that i'm going to next saturday. Squats went allright. Got 435 with relative ease, but gassed out with 470. Deadlifts went better, 545 (5lbs under pb). Form and timing need a bit more work. And rounded out the day with a 183.5(pr) strict curl.

I'm trying to become a more active poster instead of just lurk, I think.

good job. a little slow midway through. dont take so much time setting up though. I find that it ruins the lift.

word. if i don't go up to it and grip it-rip it, i probably won't be able to make the lift. hesitating in the set up always messes me up

    nice lift though

I do curls just to see what I can get. Usually have time to kill on saturdays.

I know I take to much time getting ready. It will become a bitch once I decide to try some equipment. Most of it is just trying to sink in my grip. I don't have a difficult time holding on to the bar, but I have fat/meaty palms and slightly shorter than average fingers.

I think on this lift I became upright too soon, taking my back out of the lift, hence the timing. I also need to work on my point of focus all the way through the lift, should help keep my chin up and everything else in line.

    Thanks for the comments

And that pull would earn you some redlights. I bet you'll smoke it and more on meet day though. What do you plan on opening with?

I haven't set my numbers in stone yet but was thinking:

    sq 185 (408), 195 (430), 207.5 or 212.5 (457,468)
    B 142.5 (314), 152.5 (336), 157.5 or 160 (347,353)
    dl 227.5 (502), 245 (540), 255 or 257.5 (562,568)

I will be competing in an unequiped division btw. I'm thinking about finally trying some equipment out sometime this summer.

I know that lift had a chance or geting some reds. It looks like I rested the bar on my legs, but I don't think I saw any downward movement of the bar. This is why I'm glad I can critique (sp?) myself now.

Is there a better place to upload/host vids or pics from?
