I went to one this morning and someone at _every_ booth and just people in the crowd were asking how much I wanted for it. I just really brought it there to show it off and maybe strike up some conversation with some more knowledgable then me. they would get disappointed when I told them its not really for sale, that I was just there to talk and look for a Mauser K98 with original markings.

Anyway, a guy there had a springfield 03 for $690 :mamoru: I did see one K98 there but the guy had no price on it, and it looked fairly beat up.

I/O has K98's with all markings intact for decent price. Doubt you'll find a deal on one at any gunshow.

you would take a fairly heavy rifle to a gunshow and tote it around all day just to show it off? :ugh:

it's understandable it's annoying, but you do realize that most of the time when people are carrying a gun at a gun show....it's because they are trying to sell it.

Its like that whenever me and my dad bring something my great grabdpa captured in WWII to get appraised for insurance prup.. That usually includes an SS tunic, a nazi flag that was captured from a tank and singed by his buddies, or some really nice lugers

He usually has a group of guys following him around

At the show I go to most of the time, if it's in the open, someone has brought it to sell. If it's in a box, someone bought it there. Occasionally you'll see someone with a sign on their chest / back saying what they've got for sale, but I've never seen a barrel flag.

You usually get asked by the guys at the tables regardless, but people around here are pretty good at not bothering you unless its an interesting piece or they really want it.
