Its a FIST #1A. Didn't want to spend a whole lot of money on my first holster purchase, and this seemed like it was a well made product. Overall I'm pretty impressed, although it is in there pretty tight, which I assume is normal at first. Any tips I need to do to break it in?

    probably yeah.

I broke in my leather holster by just leaving the pistol in it for a few days. It held a more natural shape to the pistol, making it easier to operate.

there were a lot of issues with people shooting themselves in the leg because of the finger placement required to release the lock.

    whats not to like.

if you want to loosen the holster a bit wrap a plastic ziploc bag around your gun and put it in the holster for a while

I have no proof of this theory, nor can I recall his name right now, but the main proponent behind the serpa hate could be found on the pages of several prominent gun rags Captain Hookin' the trigger guard instead of laying his finger flat. He never posted that he ND'd, but supposedly there were tons of PD's reporting that...none of it was never given any reference of even a specific PD.

I call bullshit, I think the guy ND'd because he hooks his finger, and the holster doesn't work for him. I've never had a problem with mine, and I like it a lot as an OWB holster.

That being said, it's not a concealed carry holster. If you're using one for that, you're robbing yourself of true concealment, and just because Joe Blow doesn't notice, doesn't mean no one else does. Get an OWB that holds closer to your body, or get an IWB holster.
