panasonic fz10 12x optical zoom, waiting on my 512 mb memory card to arrive. I must say i was thinking about returning it based off of the sample photos submitted by "professional" photographers. They sucked. I thought it was going to be an issue with camera quality, upon using it however, it's not the camera, it's the photographers. Thing takes good high quality photos when configured correctly, using custom white balance (white card calibration) and ample lighting conditions. The built in flash does not white out everything (assuming you have calibrated the custom white balance setting) and auto focus is fast , and quiet, and accurate for the most part. loaded with features, powerful ZOOM (400 mm optical equivalent for slr) I love it.

I read your thread about this being one of the underrated cameras.

    Post some pics up soon!

:bigthumb: Those panasonics have a lot of neat features in a tiny package.

no memory card yet, 16 mb card included is shit for storage space, pointless to go shooting until my 512 arrives

It's a very good camera. I like the 16:9 feature. The samples I've seen are very impressive for such a small CCD. I believe it's even threaded

haven't had much time to shoot outdoors yet

I don't like the fact that it only captures images in jpg, i would prefer a non lossy format but resolution is good

    original scaled down to 800x600

this is a normal shot, not even macro mode. I was surprised to find this amount of detail

the lens hood is threaded for 72 mm ...however i just found an aftermarket kit on ebay that screws onto the lens and allows you to keep the dress ring, reduces the filter to 62 mm without need the lens hood, but i'm not sure if the kit and the lens hood could be used together
