Was looking around for rifles for a while, happened to stop into a local gun shop and they had taken a WASR-2 in on trade earlier in the day, they had just finished cleaning it, and they hadn't even put it on the showroom floor yet. $300 out the door.

Black furniture, folding stock, sling. 2 mags. 5.45x39mm

I'm sure I'll get the hate directed at me here in a minute.

I think I'm going to be getting either a -74 kit or a FAL receiver with my return :o

I planned on buying nothing today, but at the price, I thought it was good. AK variants seem to be expensive in these parts.

Also picked up a small safe to keep my .45 and all of my ammo and spare parts in.

Around here right now, 5.45 is cheaper than 7.62. Surprised me, everybody said it was more expensive.

:rly:? every place I have seen has always had 5.45 as the cheaper one.

And tomorrow I'm actually picking up a mossberg 500 w/ both barrels for nothing, a guy at work owes me some money and this is how he's paying me off.

They may have been talking about commercial and not surplus.

I just took it apart out of curiosity. Trigger group, gas piston, and pretty much everything I could see, already replaced with Tapco.

thast a tough choice... 5.45 ammo is so cheap, but FAL ammo is highly reloadable... let us know what you choose!

Get some wood furniture on that bad boy. I love my WASR-2. I straightened out my FSB today. :wavey: Can't wait to shoot it this weekend.

This is my first assault rifle. I own a 10/22 and a CZ 45 pistol right now. I have a feeling I'm going to become an addict.

Those are the ones I have, they look good and work fine. No malfunctions yet. :coold: Seems like a lot of people are joining the 5.45x39 crew lately.

Picked up 4 mags and a 500rd brick of wolf mil classic. Ammo was on sale for $69.

Rumor has it, after talking to the guy that works at Rapid Fire, they're getting ready to buy a ton of german 5.45x39. Said the price will be between $0.05-0.07/rd. If that's the case I'm gonna buy as much as my savings will allow lol.
