Receive my Tokina 12-24.... I open the box to find the lens cap off, lens dusty as shit and 2 finger prints on the lens :ugh:

    Awesome B&H!

    Damn dirty joo fingerprints.

I say give em a chance to right the mistake. If they still don't, then politely let them know they've lost a loyal customer.

yeah it appears their customer service is a joke too

they'll do the typical RMA for return

way to try and save your customers, because an RMA means i'm getting it somewhere else

you know you expect a lens to be clean, but every single time ive bought a filter out of the box its been cloudy and dusty. it really is annoying.

They probably saw all your posts on here and did that to avoid contact with you in the future.

sounds like you probably got a returned item

well all they can do is RMA... which basically is a "fuck you"

so i gotta decide if i wanna send it back or just keep it. i cleaned it up and it looks good. not sure if the "off" coloring in the black is normal or not

I've always heard great things about B&H, and I think I've ordered 1 item from them via Amazon. But I typically end up buying off of Amazon. Although it also has to do with their constantly taking holidays. I understand that they started as a small family business and they're sticking to it, but they are constantly taking 5-6 day holiday weekends:o

Is there something materially wrong with it? Do you just expect them to send you a replacement on "your word"? Have you ever owned a business?

That's not what I mean. They could offer something to try and keep business. They know full well there are 20 other vendors with the same product for the same price.

RMA is simply a bullshit blow off. They will waste my time waiting for return and sending another. By the way, they weren't offering a return for free... awesome.

So basically, they fail. Good places will offer some money back or maybe something additional.

How do you know they won't offer something once they see that the product was not in new condition? Or once again, do you just expect them to take your word. I've owned retail. I know the stupid shit customers try to pull when they either find it somewhere else for $2 cheaper or decide they no longer want it.

But to be honest, B&H is a discount reseller. How do they know even if it was marked up, that it wasn't like that from Tokina? You think they open every box? Want real customer service, pay a little more and go to a brick and mortar store...if there is one still around.

And what is Maxtor? A manufacturer, not a retailer. Completely different.
