"The United States has the power to cause harm and pain," said Ali Asghar Soltanieh, a senior Iranian delegate to the IAEA. "But the United States is also susceptible to harm and pain. So if that is the path that the U.S. wishes to choose, let the ball roll."

    Interesting. You're take?

hopefully diplomacy and cooler heads will prevail. i don't necessarily want to get shot at by iranians over this, but the bottom line is that they just can't be allowed to have a nuke.

I suggest we pull out of iraq, create a civil war, then have ISRL nuke iran :o

I think that any military action against Iran would come in the form of air power alone. And a few special ops missions. I really don't see an invasion happening. One, because we are already streched a little thin with the troops in Iraq and two, because an invasion would not be necessary. I think we would just bomb numerous select targets such as nuclear facilities and military targets. Basically just show that we're not fucking around and we can kick their ass.

it would be foolish and completely uneccessary to invade iran. popular support for freedom is actually pretty high in Iran - the younger generation really doesn't like their leaders, and we should exploit that.

of course, dropping bombs also tends to piss people off, despite how they feel about their leadership, so we'd have to be very careful in an air campaign as well. personally i think we should support an insurgency in that country while a diplomatic resolution can be reached. failing that, a surgical strike air campaign would be our best bet.

an invasion would be the biggest mistake we could possibly make.

I see myself being deployed there soon.

They are causing quite the trouble. It would help if the UN started getting their hands dirty rather than trying to play everything off.
