Weird Video Problem

    OK.. so here's the scoop... the computer wasn't displaying pictures from a digicam correctly.. So I suggested to the guy that it might be the display resolution is too low.. or maybe needs to update video drivers.. etc..


    so the guy goes home... starts fiddling around with the display settings.. next thing you know.. I show up to see what I can do about it and all he gets when running Windows is a "Display out of range" message on his monitor

    if you go to DOS mode.. you've got visual.. during start up and shut down.. but not after Windows starts.. anybody have any idea how I could go about getting this guy's setings back to where they need to be??

    Win98 on a machine that's older than dirt...

    Got to safe mode and bring down the res.

    ok.. dumb question.. how do I force it into safe mode?

    F8 key and select option 3 (or whatever safe mode is).
