I felt as if I was heading toward over training last week so I decided to take a few days off. I returned yesterday to do chest/tris and I had the worst workout of my life. I could lift the same amount of weight but could do very few reps. I even pinned myself with a barbell. :ugh2: So after four days off to prevent overtraining I was worse off than before. When I got home I was dead tired and even today I'm still a bit tired.

What should I do? Wait another couple days without working out? Work out light?

Sometimes I just have an off day where I do horribly at my lifts. Sounds like you had one too. And man, I hate taking days off, I get all antsy for the two days between friday and monday

I went yesterday really motivated to be back after four days off and I couldn't lift shit. What's the point of going if I'm not going to have a productive workout?

I'm guessing that during those four days that your diet was shit and you probably didn't get enough rest. either that or it finally caught up to you and you just had a piss poor workout. Its been known to happen.

Ahh sometimes I just go into the gym and suck for no reason I can think of.

Then other times I go in there and kick some hardcore ass for no reason I can think of either.
